Bitpanda Crypto Exchange to Withdraw from the Netherlands

Cryptocurrency exchange Bitpanda will “delist” Dutch residents from its platform to comply with Dutch regulations, the company said in an email on Tuesday.
“We are not currently registered as a crypto-asset service provider in the Netherlands and have no plans to apply for registration in the near future,” a spokesperson for the Vienna-based company said in an email. “We are currently focused on our core markets... The Netherlands is not currently one of our core markets.” The company has licenses in Austria, Bulgaria, France and elsewhere.

The Netherlands is a member of the 27-nation European Union. The trade bloc passed extensive crypto-asset markets legislation (MiCA) last year, allowing companies to apply for a license in one EU country and then operate across the bloc. MiCA will not fully come into effect until December of this year.
