Aiying reported that the Hong Kong Monetary Authority issued a press release on fraudulent websites, regulated platforms, fake documents and emails impersonating the official website of the Hong Kong Monetary Authority, calling on Hong Kong citizens to be vigilant and pay attention to fraudulent websites impersonating the official website of the Hong Kong Monetary Authority, platforms claiming to be regulated by the Hong Kong Monetary Authority, fake documents and emails, including paying attention to a fraudulent website with the domain name 353049[.]cc; a digital currency platform called "Kucoin" claimed to be regulated by the Hong Kong Monetary Authority and issued documents in the name of the Hong Kong Monetary Authority, requiring citizens to pay fees to retrieve frozen account funds. The Hong Kong Monetary Authority stated that it has reported the incident to the Hong Kong police, clarifying that it has nothing to do with it and will not contact citizens regarding personal financial matters.
