Aiying learned that the Securities and Futures Commission (SFC) of Hong Kong today warned the public to beware of a suspicious website operating under the name of "KKR Global", which impersonates a licensed institution and is suspected of engaging in virtual asset-related fraud.
The website impersonated KKR Capital Markets Asia Limited, a SFC-licensed institution, and was suspected of engaging in fraudulent activities involving virtual assets and claiming to be headquartered in Hong Kong. Victims said they were solicited to invest in cryptocurrency products on the website through instant messaging applications.
They subsequently experienced difficulty withdrawing funds from the relevant websites and were asked to pay high “fees” to “verify their wallets”.
